I will be sure to post all about our trip, but for now I leave you with this:
Yesterday morning I looked like this....
And now, I look like this.....
Chopped it off! It was time for a change and when I brought up my hair cut appointment to my mom she asked if I was going to donate it to Locks of Love again. (I donated 13 inches about 4 years ago). I wasn't planning on that drastic of a change, but I got to thinking and decided "What the heck. Why not? It's only hair and it'll grow back."
So I took the plunge. And I love it! I feel so light and free. I was so, so, so, so tired of my long hair. It was always tangled, covered in spit up, and getting pulled by Addy. Therefore I simply put it in a ponytail. Every. single. day. Not to mention that it was falling out at an obscene rate when it was that long. I mean, I always lose a lot of hair in the shower and when I brush it, but it was getting ridiculous.
So the hair dresser washed my hair, put it in a bunch of little ponytails, and chopped them off. And here they are.... Longest ponytail was 13 inches and shortest was 9.5 inches.
Yup, those are all of my little ponytails splayed out on the bathroom counter. I thought it was so funny that I had to get a pic. Mike was appropriately thoroughly disgusted. Ha ha! But let me explain. The hair had to be completely dry before sending it in to Locks of Love, so I had to lay it there overnight to dry. Gross I know. But it's gone now, en route to West Palm Beach, FL. Hopefully they'll be able to use it for a child in need!
I was reading the LOL website, and approximately 80% of the hair donations are from children for other children. Maybe one day Addy will donate her hair....if it she ever gets any ;)
I always love you with short hair! Looks so fresh and upbeat:) Did mike tell you your hair looks "thin" (aka straight) again?? Hahah
ReplyDeleteI love your new look, and I think it's a great thing to do for sick children. It really looks wonderful!
